These 2-way, rear-ported stand mounters, use a non-parallel tear drop design to minimize internal standing waves. Using many concepts derived from their bigger siblings, R 6 & R 3. The R 1 Series delivers a precise soundstage with nerve and punch belying their actual size. These small wonders will leave the listener wanting for more.
In order to take full advantage of the AudioVector tweeters and the hand assembled mid/bass drivers made with Aramid Composite membranes, the front baffle is narrow. The result is a smooth, precise sound diffusion – an ‘out of the box’ sound that keeps unwanted diffraction distortion to an absolute minimum.
The R 1 model is available in three versions (Signature, Avantgarde and Arreté) which use increasingly complex concepts and technologies. The type of tweeter used is also one of the distinguishing points between the three versions, with the Arreté AMT tweeter being the finest and most sophisticated.
Audiovector Freedom is a new and revolutionary grounding technology, which addresses the movement induced distortion of and between the drive units in a loudspeaker. The currents running between the chassis are being processed and dealt with through a new separate crossover, which routes the signal to the ground terminal of your wall socket or your grounded mains distribution unit. Contrary to conventional knowledge, these currencies cause coloration and distortion between the drive units. By balancing and filtering these through a dedicated separate filter and by offering the possibility of connecting the speakers to earth/ground, they achieve a clean, very accurate, significantly more realistic sound with a low noise floor. The R-Series Arreté AMT Tweeter
The finest tweeter we have ever designed now sports an Integrator Acoustic Lens, which improves dispersion, impulse response and integration with the midrange driver. In combination with our SEC treble concept, it contributes to deliver a wider, deeper, higher and more natural soundstage that highlights advanced detail.
Carbon Fiber Terminal Plate
On the Arreté models, the binding posts are mounted on a carbon fibre terminal plate. The use of carbon fibre eliminates any interaction with the rear mounted crossover components, resulting in higher detail and a lower noise floor.
Audiovector Carbon Drivers
Audiovector’s new high-tech membrane consists of cross woven carbon fibre sandwiched with artificial wood resin. This is the foundation of a more dynamic and detailed sound from the new titanium voice coil drive units in the R-series.
SEC Soundstage Enhancement Concept
Audiovector’s SEC technology results in wider dispersion, lower compression and a large, open soundstage in all three dimensions. This concept was developed by Audiovector to create a more natural, detailed and articulate performance that brings the listener closer to the music.
